I began my teaching career in 1993 when I accepted the speech and drama position at Malvern High school. I was thrilled to be back in my home community and home school. During my fifteen years in the classroom I directed numerous plays and musicals including, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", "Cinderella", "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown", and "Night of January 16th".
In 2008 I moved into the Malvern High School guidance office as the freshman and sophomore counselor. I am excited to begin my eighth year as a counselor and to work with my students to help them be successful in the career, academic, and personal/social areas of their lives.
Before earning my speech and theatre degree from Middle Tennessee State University, I made my living in the entertainment field. I sang on The Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport, Louisiana in the early 80's and was in dinner theatre at Big D, Texas Dinner Theatre for two years before moving to New York City and then to Nashville, Tennesse. During my nine years in Nashville, I worked as an extra in film and television commercials, and performed on the "You Can Be A Star" star search contest on the Nashville Network. I also performed in country music clubs in both Texas and Tennessee. Once I began working to complete my college degree I worked numerous odd jobs to put myself through school.
