Dual Enrollment Accelerated Learning
In 2012, Malvern High School and College of the Ouachitas struck a "deal" to begin offering concurrent college-level courses to MHS seniors for free. This program is jointly referred to as the "DEAL Program." In this program, students who have met or exceeded college readiness test scores prior to the beginning of their senior year may opt to take two courses per semester on the College of the Ouachitas campus.
Students must have minimum ACT subscores of 19 in Reading and English to be accepted into the program, regardless of the coursework they choose to take. Students who wish to take College Algebra must have a minimum ACT subscore of 21 in Mathematics. A comparable Accuplacer test score may substitute for the ACT scores.
More information regarding the DEAL program can be found by clicking the on the link below to access the Malvern High School / College of the Ouachitas "Memorandum of Understanding" (MOU). This MOU acts as the contract between the two instituations and the students.
